Job purpose

Work in a team environment as a key resource for the business to manage current and develop new supply sources for either direct or indirect categories to improve cost competitiveness, increase availability based on business needs, support new brand/concept launches and expansion, ensure safe and sustainable supply and be the conduit between the company and our GPO, distribution and supplier partners.

Key impact of this role is to analyze data and provide tactical support to achieve Procurement team’s goals.  

 

Duties and responsibilities

 General and Task Management

· Onboards New Vendors including sending Vendor Package with required onboarding documents, setting up in AP, filling out new vendors’ credit application forms/package while providing them with all necessary documentation (ie, W9, Resale Certificates, Trade references, Bank references, etc.)

·Supports New Brand launches, and Culinary/Operations requests for new items or services, generating purchase orders and following up with the deliveries in order to meet timelines.

·Creates Purchase Requisitions in AvidExchange and requests approval.

·Confirms Purchase Orders to the vendors and follows up on order status.

·Coordinates deliveries with Operations and makes sure merchandise is received according to the PO.

·Creates and manages Blanket POs on a monthly basis for assigned distributors and vendors.

·Creates and maintains Product Databases including details such as product description, brand, put-up, distributor codes, UPC code, GTIN code, etc.

·Coordinates set-up of new business verticals with assigned distributors and vendors.

·Aids Operations when creating Purchase Requisitions.

·Submits invoices to AP for payment. Follow up on the invoice payment status.

·Delivers on procurement team’s formal financial commitments, thus realizing cost savings and profit & loss impact.

·Conducts market research and analyzes purchase data to ensure assigned categories optimize cost and deliver sustainable revenue and profit growth.

·Ensures operating locations minimize overall costs by monitoring and redirecting purchases to approve distributors, suppliers and products.

Audits distributor pricing to ensure it reflects contractual agreements and alerts of any discrepancy or error.

·Ensures the maximization and management of the collection, deposit and allocation of all supplier program allowances, rebates, earned income and incentives generated by contracts & programs.

·Develops positive relationships and work closely with multi-functional teams to manage, implement and track new distribution/supplier needs as well as New Business Launches and expansions.

·Provides support to entire Procurement team in other areas, as requested.

Relationship Management

·Develops and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.

·Might engage with operations and team associates to drive results while building long-term capabilities.

·Communicates efficiently throughout procurement and directly with customer’s / supplier’s management

·Develops, deepens, and maintains trusted and collaborative relationships with business partners.

Qualifications

Minimum

·Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Math, or related field.

·At least 2 years of procurement experience as an analyst or associate in a category management function.

·Expertise in analyzing and arriving to conclusions and recommendations from large sets of data, preparing and updating scorecards and reporting packages, as well as developing and maintaining detailed product databases.

·Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.

·Proven ability to manage competing agendas and priorities while translating complex information across internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

·Master’s degree in business administration or similar.

·Current or prior foodservice and/or hospitality industry experience preferred.
