What You’ll Do
You’ll be responsible managing the execution, enforcement, and success of our payroll operations by working swiftly against tight deadlines to ensure timely, accurate payroll. Reporting to the Director of Payroll, you’ll leverage your knowledge of company guidelines and procedures to deploy payroll efforts for union and non-union employees. Orchestrate Payroll Operations
Ø Build mutually beneficial relationships with customers by resolving employee challenges
Ø Process payroll for employees by calculating compensation, overtime, deductions, and bonuses; verify payroll information to ensure accurate and timely payroll allocation
Manage Diverse Payroll Procedures
Ø Manage payroll operations for union and non-union employees spanning across semi-monthly, bi-weekly, and weekly payroll structures; process both hourly and salary payroll for multiple states
Ø Supervise the process for new hires and terminations in payroll systems to ensure an effective onboarding and off-boarding process while ensuring payroll operations align with company policies and compliance regulati
Ø Conduct regular one-on-one and team meetings, performance reviews, and other checkpoints to provide coaching and keep a pulse on the team
Embrace Team Success
Ø Leverage sound decision-making skills while orchestrating day-to-day payroll operations, including filing documentation and responding to internal requests for information
Ø Ensure payroll employees comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
What We Want From You
Ø College degree, preferred
Ø Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred
Ø 5+ years of experience in payroll administration or similar role, preferred
Ø 1-2 years of people management experience; previous leadership success in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Ø Proven ability to coach, mentor, and train employees
Ø Superior interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Ø An engaging, professional telephone manner and strong attention to detail with a knack for organization and time management
Ø Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with a team
Ø Experience identifying and resolving complex issues and assuming leadership roles in unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances
Ø Solid sense of accountability and sound personal judgment
